Get ready for a new hunt in "dense, deep, and three-dimensional" locales.
Capcom gave us a first glimpse of Monster Hunter Wilds at the Game Awards live show in December 2023. After five months of silence, they've finally revealed more information about the game at PlayStation's State of Play 2024 with a fresh trailer and details on monsters, mounts, combat options, and more.
Joseph Bustos, Social Media and Community Manager at Capcom USA, has noted that:
"It’s still a small taste of things to come, but we hope you can pick up on one of the game’s main themes: 'the living world.'"

Bustos continued to detail exciting game features, including monsters that interact in herds and packs, with a detailed look into the monsters of course, the new mount — Seikret, key characters in the story, and more.
The ability to "switch between two weapons of your choice while out on hunts" is greatly loved by its fans. Another feature that looks quite interesting is the "Changing Environments," which Bustos described as:
"In Monster Hunter Wilds, locales are dense, deep, and three-dimensional. Let’s start with the Windward Plains shown in the trailer, a vast, untamed land ready to be explored. While exploring this new locale, hunters will discover harsh environments contrasted by abundant landscapes teeming with life, and even extreme weather conditions that transform the locale in unexpected ways."

Now we know the game is open-world where big maps and diverse biomes are to explore, so this new feature fits seamlessly into the game's nature. It's unclear yet how extreme weather conditions would affect the locale, but it could definitely impact your strategy.
The new installment in the series is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC in 2025. And you can already wishlist it on Steam now.
