devcom Developer Conference 2022 Set a New Attendee Milestone

The event saw over 3,500 participants setting a new attendance record.

This year's devcom Developer Conference set a new attendance record with over 3,500 participants visiting the event. Only in presence, the number of attendees increased by 10% compared to 2019, Devcom said.

devcom Developer Conference 2022 took place from August 22 to 23 in Cologne, Germany. The event returned in 2022 as the first hybrid edition with sessions held both online and in-person.

Organizers shared that during three days of this year's conference, more than 120 lectures by over 180 speakers were held. The sessions were also streamed via Twitch where viewers were able to watch recordings of daily live shows from the conference. Additionally, the organizers revealed that over 11,200 contacts and more than 31,400 messages were made traded through the event app.

"We are overwhelmed by the high number of participants in our first fully hybrid devcom Developer Conference," said devcom managing director Stephan Reichart. "Our decision to also stream all sessions online and to offer our online participants a unique event experience was absolutely right and confirmed what we had learned over the past few years. The talks & panels were well received by viewers all over the world and on site – and therefore our very
special thanks go to all the wonderful people who shared their knowledge for us and with us."

Alongside Devcom was Gamescom which kicked off with the Opening Night Live show where a number of new games like Leslie Benzies' EVERYWHERE, Funcom's Dune: Awakening, and Deck13's The Lords of the Fallen were announced and new videos including two brand new trailers for Dead Island 2 were presented.
