Splinter Cell Remake Will Update the Story for a Modern Audience

Ubisoft wants to make the world and characters more authentic and believable.

According to the scriptwriter job listing on Ubisoft's website, the Splinter Cell remake will rewrite and update the story "for a modern-day audience." The company wants to "keep the spirit and themes of the original game" while making the characters and the world "more authentic and believable."

"We’re working on a Splinter Cell remake, assembling a team with passion, drive and respect for the trifocal goggles. This is an opportunity to be part of a treasured franchise, rebuilt on Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine to deliver next-generation visuals and modernized stealth gameplay, while preserving what's at the heart of the Splinter Cell experience," states the position description.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is a stealth action-adventure game first released in 2002. It introduces Sam Fisher, an NSA black-ops agent investigating the disappearance of two CIA officers, who finds himself on the brink of a global crisis.

It's not yet clear what exactly Ubisoft is planning to modernize. Find the job listing here and don't forget to join our Reddit page and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
