Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Leaks Turned Out to Be True

Details of the upcoming Like a Dragon game that were leaked in May seemed impossible to be true, but it turned out they were.

A few days ago, the new installment of the Like a Dragon series, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, was unveiled with a new reveal trailer and is scheduled for February 2025. Some details of the new storyline were disclosed, and it turned out that the fans were actually exposed to them earlier—with the leaks that appeared back in May—but no one believed them to be true.

The leaked details, originally posted by 4chan and brought to everyone's attention by a Twitter user known as Jawmuncher, claimed that the "protagonist and playable" Goro Majima would find himself "lost at sea and losing his memory, which results in him getting involved with a pirate feud." As noted by Jawmuncher, it sounded "absolutely wild." However, the new game indeed follows the story of Goro Majima, who is shipwrecked on a remote island in the Pacific, unable to remember his past. Together with a boy named Noah, who saved his life, they get involved in a conflict with criminals and pirates.

The disclosed details even indicated the game's location, "Madlantis Island," in Hawaii. The leaks also contain some peculiar details about the upcoming game that were not officially disclosed, such as hints on how to reveal the pirate's past or some gameplay features.
