Epic Games won its battle with Google.

Yesterday, the final injunction in the case of Epic Games v. Google was issued by Judge James Donato. As of this November, Google will have to open Google Play app store for third-party developers in the US for three years.
According to the ruling, Google must allow "the distribution of third-party
Android app distribution platforms or stores through the Google Play Store" and grant them access to the catalog of Google Play apps. The company "may require the developers and app store owners to pay a reasonable fee for these services, which must be based on Google's actual costs."
This order is a win for Epic Games, which had long legal battles with Google over its app store policy. Epic Games' CEO Tim Sweeney announced that EGS would come to Google Play in 2025 in the USA:
Last December, Epic Games won a case with Google when the unanimous verdict from the jury of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California asserted that Google possessed monopoly power in the Android app distribution markets and in-app billing services markets. In April, Epic Games requested San Francisco US District Judge James Donato mandate the Google Play Store to allow third-party app stores for six years and limit agreements with device manufacturers restricting pre-installation of such stores.
Recently, the creator of Fortnite and Unreal Engine filed a lawsuit against Samsung and Google over Auto Blocker, which blocks people from getting applications from alternative app stores, including the one by Epic Games.
